Assassin's Creed Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that breaks usual expectations, the game developer has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Revealed
According to the official statement, "An unusual confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where whispers of banned practices and terrifying metamorphoses resonate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden cult.
The questline focuses on "bizarre trials and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Metamorphoses
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Additional Content
Players who finish the adventure will receive an special katana in addition to numerous artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Addition
This patch also adds the game's newest free story addition, titled "The Enigma." This playful adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns.
