It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the peak baggers, are all that remain for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batsmen to maintain a record if not afforded the possibility.

Finally, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a chance to create her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win happened three months after her bow and seven world titles have come from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

If this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Some will argue the case for final game tension. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was far harder to predict.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this knock was preceded by six games in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it has been a frustrating experience because it seemed I lacked timing at all," stated Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive nature kick in and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the right-hander was underway.

"An opportunity to go out there and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was dismissed the team needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the confidence to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

Those words will be the last rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will win from any position has grown stronger - this victory following success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

During that phase they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at an important competition.
