How these Broncos together with the malleable quarterback can stop that Chiefs' dominance.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes text commentary for the weekend matchups via various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard through designated networks covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , following last week's talk regarding two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Notable during those contests were the number of penalties both committed. Philadelphia did so at crucial times meaning they kind of beat themselves after leading 17-3 entering the fourth period against Denver, who play in London this Sunday.

But it was good to see that Denver's QB the rookie was able to have that deficit before direct three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, securing the game by four points.

Denver boast the top defender with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are first in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos won that contest.

They executed effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers instead they might plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.

At the start in the campaign, it was noted during a show that Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They ended last season well and excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

New tight end Evan Engram has excelled big and new running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He's currently 5th league-wide in ground gains (over 400) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.

That shows how the Broncos represent a team aiming to prioritize the run, since one can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush while maintains in positive down and distances.

It's also helped QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 TDs – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to pass anywhere, but they lack in the same way that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, which is different, and he's so athletic.

His strengths include his mobility, being able to pass on the run, as well as finding varied release points to deliver the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver precision throws over the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he displays great poise in the pocket and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and can throw under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

If you consistently run the ball it eats up time and makes the defence to stay in play for longer, and when you have a mobile QB the defence must cover the area vertically side to side. It can be exhausting.

Nix has bitten back with the coach on the sideline at times and it seems Payton likes that fire, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for the coach to coach a young quarterback that is kind of like play-dough. He can really build something up the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for the coach.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and now passed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are having offensively is mostly down to his guidance, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix helps make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to help you through difficult moments and boost confidence.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to face a top squad at full strength? Because that was not championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're working above average, that's a good place to be in their division. All they need to do is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their strength, which is running the ball, and this is exactly what they must do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team yet to win any game.

Ever since the league started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway through five games, this is kind of shocking considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the division.

This hinges upon which form of the Chiefs they face since Denver {beat|def
